* 19 sep 2024: very excited for the next art class that will run on sat 21 sept -  ‘the amazing story of van gogh: create an artwork in vincent van gogh style’. if you are interested in joining, please email contact@etoya.studio. what we will do:

- we will start with a quick introductory chat about vincent van gogh’s artistic practice, his struggles and achievements, and how it evolved over the years

- we will discuss his painting ‘the starry night’ in detail, when and where it was created, what van gogh himself wrote about the inspiration for this amazing work

- we will look at the website of MoMA (the museum of modern art), the world-famous museum in new york where the artwork is displayed

- i will demonstrate, and the students will follow the instructions to re-create the starry night in a way that simplifies and breaks it down to small comprehensive steps

this will be a wonderful immersion into a world-famous work by a genius artist so hopefully it will be a very special experience.

* 16 aug 2024: another great workshop run by eto YA* studio is 'the amazing story of van gogh: create an artwork in vincent van gogh style' (sat 21 sep, 10am - 2pm). come and celebrate vincent van gogh’s genius with us! we will look at his early works, explore how his artistic practice developed over time, and investigate the aspects of his late artworks such as composition, brushwork, colours in an easy and comprehensive format. you will learn the story of his world-famous “the starry night”, when and where it was made, and what inspired vincent. you will have a go at creating a simplified version of the painting. it will be a step-by-step process that will allow you to combine your own artistic knowledge and skills with van vogh’s techniques. after this workshop, you will have a better understanding of what made his work special and how to create more art inspired by van gogh. please see classes and workshops for more info

* 10 july 2024: 9x5 VAS EXHIBITION 2024

eto YA* studio is proud to participate in 9x5 exhibition at victorian artists society

FROM VAS WEBSITE: A homage to the original 1889 9x5 impressionism exhibitions of small works painted on cigar box lids. The original iconic impressionism exhibition in 1889 was organised and featured paintings by VAS artists Arthur Streeton, Tom Roberts and Charles Conder, who painted on cigar box lids 9 by 5 inches in size.

* 4 june 2024: eto YA* studio is honoured to collaborate with Flowwa and run exciting art classes in 2024! Flowwa is a non-for-profit organisation in melbourne. it runs art and wellness workshops and concentrates on mental health and healing, particularly for violence survivors. the healing power of art is well-known, and our workshops will promote the spirit of inclusiveness, relaxation and enjoyment.

WORKSHOP: draw and design a nesting doll in 2D

an exciting class where you will draw and design a nesting doll on paper. we will discuss the history of a nesting doll and the picture of the very first one ever made, talk about its inspiration and the symbolism of the ‘nesting idea’, look at nesting dolls in modern times and see great new designs and cheeky interpretations. you will follow simple step-by-step instructions to draw your own doll and colour it with paints. join this class, have fun and expand your cultural horizons!

* 2 june 2024: eto YA* studio's portrait of goat 'vivaldi' continues its journey across melbourne, he has been accepted into camberwell art show 2024. the show will present over 1200 paintings from some of australia's best artists

* 22 feb 2024: eto YA* studio has been invited to be part of an exhibition "impressed - prints from grampianarts workshops" in port fairy. it will showcase the artworks of participants of grampianarts printmaking workshops with basil hall (summer brushes 2023 and 2024) and gary shinfield (grampians brushes 2023).

* 13 feb 2024: it's coming, it's coming, it's coming!!! 2024 melbourne international flower and garden show will run between wed 20 and sun 24 march 2024 in carlton gardens and the royal exhibition building. eto YA* studio will have a display together with  art societies and independent artists. we will present a lot of new artworks, all for sale. it's a fabulous event and we can't wait. we hope to see you there!
